I ran into your mom for the first time the other day. It was inevitable this day would come. All I could manage was a “hey.”
What I wanted to say was “Hey you, you look good. How are the kids? Hope you’re doing well for real”
What I wanted to say was “I should have been more careful with your heart.”
What I wanted to say was “I hope you are happy and all your dreams come true. ”
What I wanted to say was “I’m thankful for our time together.”
What I wanted to say was “Let’s get coffee and talk.”
But all I could manage was “hey.”
